QDS Martial Arts Club

In 9th grade, I founded a Martial Arts Club, initially focusing on Boxing and Jujitsu. Over time, the club expanded to include Taekwondo, Karate, and other traditional martial arts, attracting members interested in various disciplines. By 11th grade, I shifted the club's direction, steering it toward exploring the historical and societal significance of different martial arts. This new approach encouraged members to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural contexts behind the techniques they practiced. As part of this transition, I adapted the club's member selection criteria. While physical proficiency was emphasized during the earlier years, by 11th and 12th grades, enthusiasm for the social and historical aspects of martial arts became more important. Throughout this journey, I fostered a collaborative environment where members trained together, learning both the physical and intellectual dimensions of martial arts.

Taekwondo

During my summer breaks, I dedicated my time to teaching Taekwondo to elementary school students. For one month, three days a week, I introduced them to the fundamentals of the martial art that had been a part of my life since I was their age. Drawing from years of personal experience, I ensured each lesson was not only engaging but also focused on safety, taking care to prevent injuries as they learned new techniques. It was rewarding to watch the students grow more confident with each session, gaining both skill and discipline.
